Hello, friends! What do you think about this thing? It has been sold for a long time I think. Is there everything all right with it to your mind?
Thank you, Vladimir.

Petsamo,
You must have a secret stash of Gebirgs tunics. Three in quick succession? The part of this I like the best are the eppaulettes. GR100 was quite a well known unit. They won 45 DK in Gold over the course of the war, the Fusilier and Grenadier Regts of Grossdeutschland both only won 25 each!
And this officer was 'der Reserve' (another interesting feature - indicated by the grey underlay). This indicates he was put on the reserve list, after completing his military training. This was actually an honour, for those who could not be kept in full time service, due to the restrictions imposed by the Versailles treaty (only 4000 officers allowed in the Reichswehr).
Theoretically, those involved were awaiting a position to open up, in the full time army, but in practice would participate in a part time capacity to keep their skills up to date.
dR officers all joined well before 1935 (when Hitler started ignoring Versailles), and helped the army grow from 100,000 to 300,000 between 16 March and 01 October, that year.
Hope this is of interest.
David!

The things that I don't like about this tunic are the collar tabs. Why waffenrock tabs on a standard mid- to late-war officer's tunic? Have they been 'restored' to a tunic missing them?
Is the tunic named?

I thought someone would react to the collar tabs.
I've seen this configuration before. I presume it would have been a version of the piped four pocket tunic that was obsolete circa 1940 (someone probably knows exactly when). It's my favorite style tunic. I collected piped four pocket tunics for a time and only have a Panzer officer's now.
I can imagine the use of the parade style tabs as well as the bright silver shoulder boards on a four pocket tunic may have had the intention of dressing up a service tunic during wartime for off-duty occasions like a wedding where the parade tunic was not used and the piped four pocket was already officially passe'.

One correction. I sold GD somewhat short before. Gren Rgt GD, was previously called Infantry Regiment GD, and their combined DK in Gold haul was 52. Given how GD was employed, for them to still be only marginally ahead of GJR 100 speaks volumes for GJR 100's effectiveness.
GJR 100 were in the top ten WH units for DK in Gold, and the highest of all Gebirgs units, by a considerable margin.

Paulj, militarymania, David thank you for your minds! I have no one tunic of a mountain chasseur. I want to buy but don't want to make a mistake. Sorry to say but the military jacket number 2 has already been sold. David, it's a great mind about the reserve army! I've read that that time soldiers, feldwebels, officers could place on a daily tunic ceremonial collar tabs. And more, the military jacket of such colour is difficult to wear every day, isn't it? I've read such colour of cloth had military jackets that time but never saw myself. Is such colour of cloth possible? Paulj, is it possible to see your tunic of such shade?
Thank you, Vladimir.

There is no problem with the colour of cloth used on this tunic. Officer's tunics were made by tailors, not issued, and this shade of grey is not uncommon.
David!
