The oldest is a Model 1866"Chassepot"Sword Bajonet . The upper spine is engarved with :"Mre Imfr.ale.de Mutzig Mai 1868.

The crossguard has :"E 38849 " and the upper blade has a "J".

..and the rounded guard has several proof marks : 'C' ; 'M'and'C' with a crown above.

The chromed scabbard has 2 sets of numbers : " 39. RL 4.127 " and upside down : " B 23166 " . The frog hook has 2 -"O" with crown .

The 2nd one is a French Model 1874 "Gras" Sword Bajonet and is engraved on the upper spine with : " Mre d' Armes de St. Etienne 7Gre( Febr.) 1879 "

The hook of the crossguard has these interesting markings :" 42. --L.W. " above a line and " 1141 " below the line .

The black anodized scabbard has a t the frog hook the letters : " OE over WG ". I like to know what French Model this 3rd Bajonet is called and the issue year it had ?????

Your nr.3 piece is a austrian Werndl M1870/73 bayonet, made by OEWG by Steyr and unit marked to 42 Landwehr Battalion or Regiment, best regards,Andy Ps the nr.1 scabbard was upgraded by Germans, there is a Landsturm unit probably and the frog stud was changed and the surface was nikled, i believe it could be captured in 1870 Prussian Franco war
