I've seen a couple of P.L. tunics come up for sale recently. Yhey were similar in some respects. In particular a large two digit number stamped on the interior of tunics and breeches. The stamps were of the same size and font. Is this commonly found? See two photos.
thanks, kevin

THE NUMBER IS A SIZE FOR A STOCK LINING. LIKELY, THE TUNIC IS A PRIVATE TAILOR MADE GARMENT INSTEAD OF A TUNIC SOURCED THROUGH A RZM OUTLET.

Thanks Bob. This particular tunic also has a RZM tag. Is this a problem?

PRIVATELY TAILORED TUNICS STILL WERE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THE STANDARDS SET BY THE REICHSZUGMEISTEREI.
