Love the variation of grip colours and degrees of patination. With the ever increasing prices of SS and now SA seems to be hot on the heels, Army dagger's provide a good area for more budget minded collector's, there may be plenty about but the truly nice ones are becoming harder to locate and all in all they are very nice dagger's. I especially like the Voos etched ones and that damascus of Patrice's is just about as nice a dagger as you can own.

Tex, you echo my thought's, when you see stuff like it that makes you wonder which way to go, if you've seen Denny Roache's collection of Heers and Lufts (Lufts as was, I think Denny sold off some of the Lufts) but anyway a credit to collecting enthusiasm, wish I didnt keep changing my mind Nolan

Hi kwakernaak,
Impressive! Heers are not my thing, but I still know high quality when I see it. Also, your photography is first rate.

Thanks for the replies guys!! Glad you like them as much as I do. Although my fotograph skills are average the clue to photographing any blade is to use diffuse light..ie from outside on a cloudy but bright day. Then also any digital camera with a nice macro setiing does the trick. I use the sony cyber shot DSC T9 for all my pics. If I can do it then everybody can..
Thanks again,
Peter

Hello,
I collect Army daggers as well. You have a very, very nice collection there. Plus you've completed them with portepees and hangers as well. I like seeing the complete set. Great job on your photos. You hit the nail on the head with the clue to taking good photos. Diffuse, natural daylight is the best.
Thanks for sharing!
Doug
