I've had this belt for years and never figured out what time frame it's from. There aren't any dates or part numbers the military uses today. In fact I'm just guessing it's US, it could be British for all I know. Any ides?

Belt.There is lots of verdigre so the fittings should be brass.

I'll pick my chance and say this is a British officers belt.Nice condition.

The "Russet brown" color was the standard for US troops when they wore these. Also I think that is the rear chinstrap for a US officers hat, which was eventually discontinued. I think the belt design was pretty much the same for both the US & the Brits, and you see some slight variants in individual manufacture design. There were several accessories that could be attached; sword, pistol holster, etc. Neat to have the box though, would make for a nice officers locker display.

It is a US Army officer's outfit. The sword hanger frog gives it away. British swords were worn with a leather Y strap arrangement.
