Hello Everyone, I purchased a couple of items today 10-28-07 and I have a week to return them if they are fakes, reproductions or not correct for the WWII time period. I am new to collecting, and I am very concerned that this item is not correct. I did some searching on the Internet and one forum was saying that Frank & Reif never manufactured U-Boat War Badges during WWII. Is this correct?
Here is what I know about this piece: The U-Boat War Badge is maker marked as follow: Frank & Reif Stuttgart
Its height is 39.5mm and its Width is 49mm I dont know what type of metal it is, but nothing on the badge is magnetic. It has a strange type of pin catch and it is facing to the left which is opposite of the ones I have seen on the internet.
I am attaching photos. Sorry about the quality, I have to reduce the size and quality to get it down below 100K.

Thanks for responding John.
Is it true that Frank & Reif never produced a U-Boat Badge during WWII?
I would like to know for future reference.

I would like to know for future reference.[/QUOTE It's really impossible to state that a firm NEVER produced something unless you were a principal with that firm. I'm pretty sure most collectors would have agreed that Klittermann & Moog never produced police degens until a very nice example surfaced a couple of years ago. Jim
