Hello-
this is my first flag and I really want to collect these signed trophy flags.

I know virtualy nothing of these Nazi flags to verify authenticity. I'm also suprised the Soldiers info in "stenciled" on.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Brian

its good, it was most likely done by an officer to adorn the mess or his office as a trophy post war

Thanks for the information. I would be suprised if it was done by an officer due to the mispelled words... IMO

what do you mean by "to adorn the mess"?

thanks
Brian

adorn: to enhance the appearance of especially with beautiful objects and 2 : to enliven or decorate as if with ornaments ,,,mess: a place where soldiers take food or nourishment, usually in a bldg, often segregated for officers and enlisted men,,,

do you know how easy it is to ''make'' a trophy flag.
take a regular german banner/flag, get a pencil, or ''dipped ink pen'', and sign away!!!!
How many would you like to pay a premium for?
And Japanese flags with fake kanji is VERY common too,
ww2 era Japanese flags are cheap, and writing ''capture info is easy too!
I have made some good money at shows with these types of flags/ banners off collectors who should know better, but all they saw was a deal for them to resell down the line somewhere...
