Just out of curiosity, what is it about the helmet you do you not like? I know the photos are poor, yet I do not see anything from the photos that would make me pass either? How much are single decal helmets going for these days?

Regards
Paul

Better pics required.

From these poor quality pics I don't like the eagles-head (form) and the chinstrap-buckle.
I could be wrong but my first look gives me my opinion.
(prices M40 SD LW in good shape are about 800/900 USD I guess)

regards,

Thijs

I guess I'll post this twice since there are two threads on this helmet. The liner split pins are not ET split pins. That answers any Q's for me.

this was a test.
this helmet was posted on here before and was given the thumbs up by a majority vote.
helmet experts no Roll Eyes
looks like a few (helmet experts) have been given a learning curve.
schmitz was stationed with an anti aircraft battery at st mere eglise this helmet was picked up by a member from the 1st parachute regiment which took the bridge at pegasus.the germans were in full retreat through the villers bocage in northern france where they were systimaticly wiped out.
thankyou for your opinions but i will go elsewhere for an expert evaluation.
i have bought it for $350 from a guy down south

How big were the pictures the first time? Real or not, it still doesn't have ET split pins.

I'm still learning myself, but my opinion is that the pictures are "fuzzing" out the detail. The "Schmitz" looks like it was printed yesterday, pins don't match, strap looks new and the liner looks like forced aging. But like I said, it could be all in the pic's. (the eagle looks o.k)

remember this helmet
it was shot down as fake i know from fact this helmet is an original hitler youth medic combat helmt
one guy was banned from this forum for apparantly posting pics of another members runes.i know the dealer and he is honest in every way. what the member did was totally out of order but i know perfectly good helmets are slated on this forum and people miss out on a good investment.
i do not intend a grudge match or anyone to take offence but mistakes are made Confused

Greg,

I am waiting for the link to the thread that people said the Luft helmet is good.

You post a thread with terrible photos ask for opinions. Peopel like myself offer their advice but state it is hard to tell from the photos.

Get yourself a camera that does not suck and take clear and close up pictures, until than don't waste our time with your posts.
