Take a look at this jerk.
Breaking up a Gebruder Heller SA in parts to sell on Ebay.
Makes me Mad as hell to see such stupidity. You`ll need to check sellers other items to see the bidding. Looks to be a nice dagger
SA
So far the combined bids are $344.49

I hope someone can save this piece from the sellers ignorance. A pox on him!

Yes... I saw that this morning. It's ridiculous, it doesn't even remotely need to be broken up.

It's unfortunate that the sum of the parts often sell for a total higher than a complete dagger would...or at least used to. With the price of all original daggers climbing, I'm not sure it makes sense any more(if it ever did?)
Parts daggers are just that, parts! They never fit together like an original. Most dealers are motivated by the bottom line, not preserving history.

Also, if eBay would allow the sale of original historical items, we would see less parting out of daggers...

if I remember correctly, this seller was very active in the early days of ebay, bidding on just about everything dagger related, real or not. I think I had sent him invites back in the "day" to come here, dont know if he ever did.

Very sad, unfortunately its quite a trend on eBay. There is a seller that routinely breaks up good Army daggers, even scarce makers for parts. He often seems to fetch less than he would selling them complete. Perhaps his goal is to be recognised as a "parts" supplier...

******* Not one of you had permisson to post these pictures. ********. As for this this site it is history to me. I am going to find out if you are allowed to use my pictures without my permisson. Like my friend said GDC is a bunch of idiots who only wish they knew what they were talking about. Goodbye and good riddens Some of you guys have nothing better to do that gossip.

One more thing before I get the boot from this site. The auction has been ended. I didn't think you guys cared enough about daggers? How many of you guys have bought dagger parts and did you call the seller a moron? The chances of a complete SA dagger making it through the ebay gestapo is very slim because some people want the dagger so bad they snitch to ebay hoping they will get it cheap. Usually one person ends up having the high on all the parts so what is the difference if it is in parts or whole? No offense meant to all English just a certain few.

Can you believe that anodized scabbard only went for $135. I would have thought much higher.

It is unfortunate that sellers are forced to sometimes break up daggers etc. because of the political climate,

I would personally not break up a dagger. But, for all of you who are supper critical, What about a person who buys a set of medals belonging to one person who then breaks them up and sells the medals independently? Does that person also draw the negative comments here. And if not, What about the person who buys the uniform sword and dagger and then likewise sells them independently?

Where do you draw the line and who is the arbitor of all? You see, I did not get the memo that appointed someone on this forum as God.

The auction was ended in the middle, which is why the scabbard went so cheap....

I spotted this one a little late and I taken out a few remarks that went over the line. please tone it down a bit.

This would not be the first one I've seen on eBay. It happens a lot. As Jim points out, similar, but less noticeable things happen in other areas.

Rod, you are a premium member so why not try selling stuff here ?

The reason I don't sell on here Dave is because these guys think they are perfectionists and if the stuff doesn't meet their standards then it is junk!

Dave. I have one question. I thought it was against GDC rules to post pictures without the owners permisson?

If those are your pictures, and they were used without your approval, I will remove them at your request.

That having been said, the horse is long out of the barn and removal now of the pictures (not the posts) would simply make people wonder what you were hiding.

Your choice

For all of you are wondering. The ebay user ID for the heller dagger is not mine. I had a friend list it for me. Also he was not one of early ebayers bidding on every dagger he seen as stated in one of the above threads. If he was invited to join this forum, I am very glad he didn't because he would have been just another fool!
