Hi Helmet collectors, I thought You would like to see a nice portrait I got on last sunday's fleamarket here around Munich: This transitional Reichswehr helmet has a very dark appearance, I wonder what color this was. Here is a detailed scan of the helmet, a bit bigger this time Kind regards Robert

Hi Robert,
That is a very nice portrait photo...thanks for sharing it with us. It just goes to show how much wear and tear occurred to these helmets back in the period, and this is an early mid-1930s image.

Doug,
That is correct. As a WW1 issue helmet it would have been overpainted and decalled for issue to the new Wehrmacht.
