The SS marking as applied has been noted on a multitude of pieces and makers. While it is impossible to say in many cases, the fact that it has been noted on post-war porcelain as well as period porcelain makes it suspect. But the manner of application and style is the same. So I am not sure there are original pieces to compare it with. Anything with applied runes of this manner should be viewed with suspicion as it makes a 20.00 plate or bowl or whatever into a piece that can sell for several hundred dollars. Even the plate and bowl in this case have different manufacturing styles.

Period marked SS mess hall plates, bowls, cups etc..are very unobtrusively marked and most always on the underside. In some very rare instances, the markings will be found on the front face of (for eg.) a plate for officers, an LAH example comes to mind..
