A Plon school student dagger for students for special marine training.Looks good to me including the frog. Some may disagree because the frog has 2 side rivets instead of the textbook 1 in the center. I have seen them both ways. I like it. My opinion. -wagner-

On Yes, you said you can get it for $1200? Well that is close to a price of a standard SA dagger. If I was looking for a NAPOLA student I would grab this one. Especially if the scabbard ball was magnetic and there was a number under the scabbard stud. -wagner-

The grip looks newly made, and I don't like the look of the blade...we need to see the tang. The frog is not standard NPEA issue. The school stamping looks suspect to me as well. I think we'll need Ron's opinion. The other fact is the seller does not have a good reputation. I still get his emails too: [email protected]http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/477091573/...010039283#4010039283If the price is too good to be true, it probably is..... Just my opinion, John

Good catch Stan. Being on another auction site out of the US is a bad sign, no matter the "price"

I asked the seller for more pics, here's the response:
Hey John, just to let you know, the NPEA is now sold.. 75% of the things on the mailout I usually do not have on hand....they are always on the way here.. And usually 90% of the items are sold, before I even get them here. So sometimes it is hard to do, to get more pic.s or info. Before it is gone. Thankx Friends Greg

Sorry, I didn't see this sooner. It looks bad to me. The fonts are wrong on the number, the blade looks repolished and the TM and motto re-darkened. The scabbard paint is wrong and the ball looks added from the photos. The crossguards are plated and should be nickel silver (look at the way the area on the guard is repolished-smoothing out the number stamping and removing the plated finish). The frog is wrong (too long and not the right construction). What else can I say?? Ron Weinand Weinand Militaria PS: My new book on NPEA daggers will be coming out shortly. It is at the printer now and will be pre-solded by order by Christmas week-will post a flier on this site in the next week or so.
