to make it clear to everyone: the offered Fencer is a good repro - NOT an original! And as a repro it is offered there - but not everybody can understand and read german language here, I guess.

i was offered one for $16,000 or �8,ooo, these will never lose money, also offered a repro for �1,55o.

I think it would be impossible to find an undamaged Der Fechter for less than $20,000+. I was offered that for mine a few years back and did not sell it. It is totally original and undamaged. Repairs (if they exist)are VERY difficult to find for the inexperienced eye. I would not recommend buying this piece without confirmation of it's authenticity and condition by Kris Lindblom or Dennis Porell. The sword, due to it's fragile construction away from the body is most often repaired. It is very rare to find one that has not been repaired. Mark
