I posted this earlier when I was seeking opinions on the banner, and have recently taken some better pics. This is one of my favourite pieces. The trumpet is made from brass and nickel, which has changed color to the dull look, often seen on political daggers.

Horn and rope attachment, believed to be for carrying over the shoulder.

Last one. The only marking I can find is this - Deutsche Wertarbeit, which I think means German Quality work.
The banner is not marked at all, and is plain black on the reverse side.
Hope you like it - thanks for looking!

This trumpet and banner is for the German Youth(Deutsche Jungvolk) Organization during the 3rd Reich. This group was composed of boys between the ages of 10-14. The trumpet and banner would have been used at rallys and other types of events. There are scenes of it in actual use in the DVD The 3rd Reich in Color. Jim

Thanks Jim. I've found several photos of these fanfare trumpets in use, but have not seen the Third Reich in Color DVD. Does it show the usual color footage, or is there some 'previously un-seen' footage as well?

Ruski: If you haven't seen the footage then it's "unseen" isn't it? These DVDs should IMO be in every serious collectors viewing collection. Jim
