Are these decals good? Looks like they have been on the helmet for some time but I have my doubts.

Repro Q decals in my opinion, with the party shield being particularly of bad design.

From what i can see, they look ok. A straight on shot would be better. Ken

Thanks for the replys so far. This is all the pixs I have. The National Party symbol is a bit slanted which in my opinion is not good.

I have been reviewing this pair again and am wondering if the bad pix are skewing them in a bad way...? Would really like to see better shots.

My thoughts as well. Taking photos at an angle makes it difficult to judge some features. This may well be an OK helmet but can't make a call with the slanted photos.

Based on the photos my opinion is that both decals are originals. The runes decal is a factory applied "Q" 1st pattern variant while the party shield is a depot level or field applied Pocher, which is a fairly common feature as far as these DD M40s go. It is very rare to find factory applied DD's on an M40.
Can you show us some pics of the entire helmet?
Cheers,
Darryl

Agreed...if they are fake then I need to find another side hobby.
Love to see a pic of the whole helmet.

Sorry these are the only pixs I have. The helmet had a rough black finish to it. At first I thought it might be a dress helmet but was not sure. Thanks for the repls so far.
