Hi guys I havnt much luck posting these SS Pith Helmet shields on the SS Forum. I'm now hoping I can get some info on this forum.

I have only seen 1 set of SS shields that were direct vet buys, and they were prong backed, like the army ones.

I'd be surprised if they would have used screw backs on these and none of the other tropical insignia.

I had a SS pith helmet with a three prong set up I am pretty sure it was good it siad JFS 42. I bought from a veteran. But I heard from many others that the stud style is good also and is acually seen more on the SS varition pith's then the prong style. Here is mine, or should what was mine. It is now for SS from Collector to Collector Milatria site.

Although its hard to see from the photo I posted. The back of the shields also has JFS 42 on them. I wish I have seen more of these type shields. Because if these are good I will buy them.
