Looks like nice II type nickel-silver.
This one will not stay long ... the eBan Gestapo will get rid on this piece in no time.

looks ok to me,but i am no expert.it looks like nickel silver fittings on dagger and scabbard.the one thing i am not sure about is the painted scabbard.should this be anodised or is painted ok with nick-sil fitting on chained daggers?

lets put it this way, with rzm pieces skyrocketing the way they are,i think 1800.00 is pretty reasonable if everything checks out.if your interested i would ask for a money back guarentee and pay with pay pal and also get there money back guarentee.if the seller is on the up and up he or she should have no problem with it.let some of the others give thier opinion though.ask for some clear close ups first though.

If real, which it looks to be, $1800 is a steal. No way it would go for that little. It will be pulled real soon. Ebay does not let the ones showing SS runes and markings go very long. It is an early type 2 with correct (or at least it looks to be correct) painted scabbard. The dagger looks a little salty, not-so-great blade, but worth $5000+ if all good. Get the seller's email address ASAP if interested, it will be gone soon!!

The dagger looks OK to me. But you're right, it is up to over $5,000. I would buy one from the forum or one of our dealer friends like Paul Hogle or Gailen David before this one off of e-bay for that price.

You know this one is gonna get pulled before most members in the US wake up today, so before everyone misses it, here's the description and photos:

It belonged to my client's deceased wife. It was given to her by her late Uncle McCall. He fought in WWII in the army. He brought it to the U.S. when he returned home after being stationed in Germany. That's all the information I have about how it came to the U.S.

The knife is in excellent condition, no pits, chips or dings in the double edged blade.

Well, its up to USD 6100 right now. Kind of pricy for a chained in that condition in my opinion.

Wow! $6100. Early type 2 there, but that is out of control! For that kind of money you could do a lot better. The blade is pretty salty. This un-knowing seller must be sh@tting their pants! She said a "knife shop" told her it was worth about $2000 so she started the auction at $1800. I am surprised it has not been pulled yet. I don't give it much longer.

Apperantly not a very knowlegable "knife shop" If I was that "knife shop" I would have taken out the checkbook right away at the $1800....

Nice piece but perhaps some schill bidding or something else going on. I can't believe that someone who does not know values would bid it up to that ammount, after all we are talking serious coin here. Someone who does know the value must certainly realize that you could get a better conditioned example for less at the Max, SOS or from a dealer and see and examine the piece in hand prior to purchasing. Something just doesn't add up in my opinion, cheers, Ryan

I agree with Ryan, something strange here. I don't know why a bidder would bid it up so high if they knew it would get canned, and they wanted to try to buy it cheap from the seller outside Ebay. Something definitely does not add up. I, (along with a lot of you guys I assume), emailed the seller when it was at $1800. I wonder what it will actually end up going for. I would think no more than $5000.

I think you guys are underestimating the value of an early type II chained. These will soon be in five figures in exc++ or better condition. The one on Ebay looked like a solid exc+ and surely will find a buyer for $6100.
