Though I really only collect German daggers, I have accumulated various other blades over the years. These are not so much a collection, but more a gathering of knives I find interesting. This one was found in northern Ontario, Canada. It is 7" long, forged from copper. I visit the Klingenmuseum in Solingen once a year, and took this along to show them. They confirmed that it was an extremely old blade, but could not tell me more, since they had no expert on early North American weapons. All I have been able to find out is that some of these blades were made throughout North America, but are extremely rare. If anyone knows more about these, I would love to find out. Wolfgang

N Ontario is the copper and nickel belt. This blade is cast from pure copper and from the hilt appears fairly modern within last hundred twenty years so early trade knife I would say .
