The machete is referred to as the "Air Force survival machete" and I would think that is also an Air force axe designed to hack you out of that crashed plane. Nice pieces!

The machetes turn up more frequently, usually missing the protective blade cover. I foudn a few listed for sale here: sale listThe axe I have not seen come up for sale, but I have few calls out to my 'old school' non internet collector friends that know way more than I do.

I may be a bit late on this one but I have only just joined the forum The axe is the same as those used by the British Royal Air Force This link will take you to the RAF Museum site. Type “Axe” into the Quick Search – you will see pictures of the same type of axe. I recently paid £30.00 - $60.00 for one. Mine has British Air Ministry markings and “Tested 20000 Volts” on the rubber handle. http://navigator.rafmuseum.org/

Emergency escape axe.I'm not sure where the link goes some main page. If you do a search I'm sure you will find the axe. I have ran into vets who called them canopy busters. here is a cover for the folding machete. bret Van Sant
