Nothing to write home about, but an odd story. Dagger came from a vet in Idaho, and the sword was purchased off e-bay about 3 years later on the east coast. Doubt if they belong to the same person but close on the engraving.

Here is a hard one to find for the gallery. It is the Eickhorn Nr.1715 with the eagle & swastika on the pommel and crossed swords on the langet.

Thanks! This is the lightweight one with around 99% copper flash & gilt.

George-
Did you buy that one recently from Tony? He sold one recently that went for very low dollar. I expected someone from the saber crowd to have picked her up. That particular model is a very nice, and certainly scarce example.

I just picked up an example from him which i've been pining to own for a number of years. He's liquidating his handful of Heer sabers, most of which are scarce models. I'm inching closer and closer, saber by saber, to fulfilling my collecting goal. I've often debated liquidating all the other "tertiary" collectibles I own in order to finance the purchase of some of the other saber models I need.

Tom

That is a nice one. I like swords and IMO you get so much more for your money.

Though I suspect there are some very good bargains still to be had I can see the day looming when they will be appreciated more and collections will grow.

I also feel it is one of the areas of this hobby that has escaped to fakers. Unless you look at high end items but even then the ones we know of are so well documented so it is a safe bet.

I need to get some of mine photographed for you to see. Though it will take me some time to catalogue them, there being so many variations. Those Johnson books are also very heavy..Smile
