Is there any period documentation from the Eickhorn firm referring to the Field Marshall series and listing the nine swords? I have an original Kundendienst and see no mention of the FM series in there. In the Heer section of the Kundendienst, only the nine FM swords are pictured in color. There must be a brochure or catalog from Eickhorn featuring the FM series.

If anyone has such a brochure or catalog, would you please post some images?

I would geatly appreciate it...

The Kundendienst lists the Field Marshal series by name, for example, the 1734 is shown as "Zeiten". I have a brochure that shows the Field Marshal series, it may take a few days to get a scan posted, I will try to do it in the next few days. Joe S

Here is a page from a small brochure depicting the Fielmarshal series. The title page of the brochure specifically refers to the title page. I should have a scan of the other side but I cannot find it right now, I will try later but it might take a few days. Joe S

Hi Joe,

Thank you for posting the image of the Eickhorn brochure. The Kundendienst does show all nine swords of the FMS in color, but it does not refer to them as FMS like your brochure does. So either there was a series of brochures (like yours) naming the nine specific swords as FMS or another catalog listing all nine swords and referring to them as FMS. I am surprised the Kundendienst didn't have the nine marked as "Feldherrn Serie"

I am at my office right now, do not have my original Kundendienst here, but I do have a B/W copy that pre-dated the Reddix copy. Each field marshal sword has the model number and the field marshal name at the bottom of the page, all nine of them. The Army borchure, which I just checked, also identifies them by Field Marchal names and refers to the field marchal series. A scan is attached, Joe S

Joe,

Your post of the four swords with mention to the FMS is exactly what I wanted to see. Actually, I'd like to see all nine in this fashion. I wonder why there is no reference to the "Feldherrnserie" in my early (orange) Kundendienst?

Thank you..

This has been very informative for me as well as others because I have been in touch with two, long time, well known collectors that have always assumed the term, "Field Marshall Series" was coined by the collector world and not Eickhorn. I am in the process of putting together the FM series myself. I have the Lutzow, Prinz Eugen and the Zieten. Only six to go..

Thanks for the help Joe ..

If you or anybody else have more images of Eickhorn material pertaining to the FMS please post them. I plan to post my FMS collection as it grows.

Best..

Hi Mike, I cant believe your Kundendienst makes no reference to the FM series. I'm not saying that the series is given special consideration, but the names of each of the Field Marshal series is printed at the bottom of the page showing the sword, correct? If not, please post a scan of the Prinz Eugen, Zeiten, or whatever so I can see it. Thanks! Joe

Hi Joe,

Yes, it does give reference to the name and number of each individual sword, just no mention of "Feldherrnserie". If you didn't already know these special nine swords were FMS, you couldn't tell by using the Kundendienst other than the nine images are in color. So far, the Eickhorn brochures are the only link between the FMS and the nine swords. Do you think there might be another Eickhorn catalog listing all nine as FMS?

Hi Mike,
I just posted a Wrangel pattern sword under "New Eickhorn Sword" check it out. The pictures do not do it justice the sword looks much better in person.I'm glad you brought this topic up as i need a refresh on Eickhorn swords. Can anyone suggest a good book or two covering only 3rd reich swords.

Good luck on you hunt!
Eric

P.S. Joe thanks for sharing the info.
