Hi Guys, I just wanted to do a quick post on those HJ honor bayonets with the SS motto on the blade. How rare are these and what is a ballpark price on say a Exc+ condition piece. thanks

Hi Lar,
Any type of HJ honor bayonet is considered rare and I would say the ones with the SS motto on them are all the more so. Tough to say about a ballpark figure since they are so tough to find, I would say it would depend on condition and then whatever else it has. I've seen ones with the HJ motto in decent shape sell for over $3K. Last time I looked, Tom Wittmann had several of them with the HJ motto in the $3000-$3500 range, Brian Maederer also had one with the SS motto for about $5000.
This one has the SS motto and a very rare stag grip plates as well as the original scabbard.

Here's a view with the grip and Carl Wusthof maker mark on the obverse ricasso. You can also see the etched pommel with the HJ motif.
