I'm trying to find out if this Eickhorn boot knife is WW1 or WW2. The pictures are not very good but hope good enough. The knife is buried under a ton of stuff in a big trunk and real pain to get to.It is a small boot knife with black checkerd wood grips and the pommel, guard and scabbard are painted black. It has the push button on pommel like a bayonet but is not made to push, just solid. Thanks

Sorry for the bad pictures. The tang mark is the 2- squirrels bach to back with C E below. I think this is the early Carl Eickhorn stamp but not sure.

Back to back is WW I. However, a number of these knives (like U.S. WW I trench knives) were carried in WW II, and the scabbard could be a later addition. Which is quite acceptable and sometimes even desired.

Regards, Fred

Thanks Sean. The scabbard for this knife isn't WW1? I found better pictures in my folders and attaching them for a better look.

Hi, Viking !

Youve got a private purchased knife, showing a narrow press-catch.

This Eick-Logo was patented in 1906 as trademark.

The scabbard is definately German, WWII.
