Hi guys does any one have an eagle and skull for a Handschar fez? I have a mint textbook maroon fez that have had the insignia removed. I would like to complete it as it is perfect with tassle, tie down thread, maroon sweatband and red size stamp all textbook and in perfect condition. If anyone has suggestions as to where I might obtain a set I would be forever in their debt. Thanks and cheers, Ryan

I'll email you should I find any, as I am not looking to buy. I advise you that they will probably cost you as much or more as most complete red fezs are selling for. Hence the growing number of fezs turning up sans insignia.
In the last 3 years or so, I have seen around 10 SS chained daggers for sale for every original TK hat insignia, metal or bevo, excluding "tropical" colored examples...go figure!

Hi JDS thanks for the reply. A complete mint red fez is selling for $1000.00. The insignia is really that much? Crazy...... cheers, Ryan

you should be able to find a set for 500-600 if you wait long enough.

Hi that price estimate sounds a little closer to the mark. I am certain that it is a mere matter of time before the price does reach the estimates of jds. cheers, and thanks, Ryan

I am with JDS. I think you are looking closer to $1000 for a nice BeVo cap set. They just aren't out there any more. A very salty set just came up for sale on a dealer site for $550 and it was grabbed almost immediately. You might still be able to pick up a nice set for around $800 if a friend is willing to cut you a deal, but the rest is just simple supply and demand. The internet has increased the demand and the supply keeps getting smaller. The math is obvious.

I echo Bwanek1. The problem with waiting is that the price seems to be increasing almost monthly. You may luck into one or both pieces from a source that does not know the value, as I have been trying to do on a knights cross for 30+ years! I've should have bought one when they were $400 instead of 10k+.
I will say that they are not at all rare, simply not often on the market. Its sort of like FJ helmets, there are probably 20,000 out there, but few seem to want to sell them.

Me I woiuld not waste good bevo insignia on a fez but if you want to restore it- Just be patient. I would look for these from a private seller first. Most times dealers are a rip-off on insignia like this. A month or two ago a guy posted a strip of two bevo skulls he bought of Manions (of all places) for 320 each I think. I also saw a few sell for a reasonable price from Nordheide Versand. I also saw Bill Shea selling some loose TKs for like 350 a few months ago.
