Hello! I need opinions of experts on this strange dagger. It seems strange not only to me. But some guys say that it is the original. In Russia in different places recently it is possible to meet often daggers of this maker in very good condition. It too is strange. Once I already asked a question at a forum about the same dagger. http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/728099473/m/9020098944All of them are similar in the smallest details. I ask you to pay special attention on a button type, painting of a scabbard, type of an eagle, a kind of blade and the motto, type of a tree of a grip, atypical colour of a patina and a mark of the maker. I would like that it has appeared the original but at doubts all too much.

Although I am not performing a side-by-side comparison of your trademark to another trademark, I don't see anything wrong with this piece - it looks fine to me. Scabbard has been painted, but that is not an uncommon "post-factory" so it shouldn't concern you. One question for you: are the scabbard fittings magnetic? They look like the correct nickel from these photos, albeit with a very grey/black patina. They should be nickel.

Ilya, I have to disagree with Craig, IMO this blade is a copy for 2 reasons. The maker mark is typical of other fake marks I've seen by this maker, it has the "perfect" ovals which period ones do not, also the cross within the pyramid is smaller than an original, these are common red flags as far as I recall.
Also the motto is very poorly formed, in fact matches neither style used by this maker. Look at the "T" in particular, it is incorrect, not to mention the rest of the characters.

Thanks you, Craig, Red and Dave that have attentively looked at photos and have told the opinion on a dagger. Unfortunately I don't has understood whether considers Dave this dagger as the original or a fake?

Ilya,
Look at the distance between the Maker's mark and the crossguard. Gruppe mark, too.

And who could define that all these daggers is GR? No traces on blade are present. On that I showed two years ago too was not. I do not wish anything to think out. Only the facts. Place MM on really GR... http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/...7091573/m/7700030234

I just found out about a fake Hammesfahr SA. With a bit of luck I will borrow it in the next month or so and do a full thread on it,
In the meantime, I would not buy the SS one Ilya put up with having it in hand.

The logo looks 100% fake to me and I mean it. Don't want to let the fakers improve (they check the forum, that's for sure), so I can describe the red flags via private message if someone is interested.

95% of all these are fake in the UK but you cant comment from a pic on a forum. You need to see the whole thing in hand.
