Well it looks like a bad chain (Russian) and a bad center scabbard fitting. Could use better close up photos.

Better pictures are needed to make a better judgement, but:
Center scabbard fitting does look very flat in appearance??
What appears to be crossgrain seems to me extremely rough in appearance?? Regrind or repro blade?

Or just bad pics...

Cheers,

Maybe just the lighting but the top grip fitting looks different from the lower one - maybe alloy? The cenre band looks different as already stated, and looks gilted in parts. The skulls look quite worn also but the connectors on this pic look okay. Need better close-ups to be sure? Also has a partial washer at the ricasso area. Could it be an original parts piece? More pics will help (me)! Isn't the knot supposed to be fixed to the clip?

Regards
Russell

Fairly good job: Here's the skinny:
The scabbard MAY BE GOOD, but the chain, clip and the middle fitting is bad. The crossguards are a mis-matched pair, but the grip is an original as is the knot. The blade is an unmarked original and is a nice one as far as I can tell.
Overall a mis-match of parts and some good.

RON,

Thanks for another very good 'Educational Exercise' & we all can use more.

Keep 'em coming. Sorta like "Stump the Stars!"
