as i understand it (thanks to dave c)
"Look like "S.K?.I.1797", which is Schutzpolizei(municipal police), admin district K?ln, duty location I, weapon number 1797"
i have had to wait a long time to have the money and bayonet around at the sametime i am quite happy with it
good luck

Dread,
Very nice piece, looks like a good cut down variety with a 13" blade. I really like the Alcoso products. You don't normally see polizei bayonets with the K98 strapped frogs, but that's not to say the frog isn't period and hasn't been there forever.

Nice piece, looks to be in super shape. The domed rivet heads are the biggest I've ever seen. Is this common on Alcoso cutdown police bayonets.

thanks i like it i don't think the frog was the original issue but jugging from the wear i would say its been there a long long time, perhaps a period replacement? the frog is stamped TEXLED 1943 Litzmannstadt now this is a little weird as i understand it the Jewish community was moved from K?ln(Cologne)to Litzmannstadt starting in 1941 then the leather frog was made 2 years latter and went back to cologne
(i did some research on texled and Litzmannstand honestly i makes me a bit uncomfortable)
is it possable to find information on where and what this police unit did?
anyway dread
good luck

I enjoy collecting this model police bayonet, especially matched. Nice find.
