I don't post much here. Helmets now-a-days are out of my league. This will be coming up for auction in a week. I took quick pics with my iPhone, and yes I know that they do ****. Time permitting I'll take the camera with me next week and try to get some better pics. The only thing on this I kind of liked was the chicken wire. The decal looked bad, didn't look old. But I was more interested in a couple of pieces of trench art and a flag. Lot of furniture, pictures, mirrors, etc. there, but it looks like the TR area was salted to get you thinking all was right. I'll send the best pics that I have at the moment, but I doubt this will go cheap at the moment. It would make a nice, not quite right filler. I don't think it's legit.

Regards, Steve.

looks like a nice no decal honest lid, with a silly fake decal, the borders to thick, shield to square and to new looking on the old war veteran helmet, wire ss lids are as rare as hens teeth, the wire may be ok, but the decal is a def no, sorry

firstly watch to see what the price is, dont jump in with a silly offer, assuming its a good no decal wire ex snow cam, as it suggests, i would be happy to part with 500 uk, but the problem arises with the decal, that will need to be removed, it may take a little time and care, as not to upset the paint underneath it. the liner seems consistent with wear on the outside too. i would knock off at leat 150 for the decal. but thats me, im a hard business man

Well the wire cannot be real with a fake decal underneath it . The liner is in very poor condition , So what you have is a poor liner a shell some fancy chicken wire and a fake decal , whats that worth to a serious collector ...............nothing . Rob

back home now on the pc and not the iphone,

Rob, I did like the wire on it as a novice collector. but i think you could have applyed the decal under the wire. there was room to do it. It was not welded to the side of the shell Smile the para helmet was bad IMO not shown. it came in late friday. it did not look even close to a late war one i have that i am on the fence with. i have never posted it. i may on a new thred someday.

thanks guys for all the info

Steve.
