IMHO why buy an NM EM SS dagger for $6900 when you can get an excellent chained for about the same price?

Brian I have to agree. I just missed a early nickle chained SS for 5K, that was in nice original condition, because the collector, a friend of mine, thought it was a good price because he's not on the internet and "thought" he would put a high price on his dagger. After all that's what they were selling for 2 years ago! I get to his table and he tells me: "Man, I tell you you should have seen the price I just got on my Chained SS!" A couple of other guys had stopped by his table before I got there, so he finished up by telling me: "I could have gotten a lot more for that one! Wow! I had no idea that chained SS daggers were going up faster than Lugers!" -wagner-

But what would you pay for an M36 if all of the nice EM's carry a $6900 price tag based on the current general consensus? I bet in such a situation, that consensus would say a lot more . . . . Brad

Wednesday evening at the SOS I walked up to a table as a dealer was unlaoding his daggers. About 2 seconds before I got to him, the dealer from accross the isle butted in front of me. There was a SWEET early Herder SS with a vertical hanger and great patina. (EX +++) he aslo had a blond gripped SA by a rare maker. Just as I took my turn to fondle the SS the dealer asked what he would take for both daggers. $3,300 is what they whent for as a pair! The dealer prompty took it back to his tables and put the SS up for $4,500.00 and $850.00 on the SA. 2 freekin seconds too late! There is always next year. Scott R.
Best Regards, Scott R.

Yes, JR it was TJ. I think he bought about 20K from the "ole boy". Plus all the spare political hangers he had under the table too. Maybe 2 dozen, I'm not sure. I really needed a couple bad. So I go up to Tom and ask him if he could spare me a couple, he said "sure come by I've got them all under my table". Then me let me have my pick of 2 for his cost. -wagner-
