From what I see in the pics it appears to be a 60's repro. Shoddy construction and finish.

This is not a typical 60's repro. Almost all of them are Horster RZM marked with different characteristics. It looks a bit beat up and damaged with replaced leather but a hands on inspection would be necessary OR better photos.

I think this dagger is a combination of original and fake parts. The dagger may be completely original but the scabbard looks fake i.e top fitting, leather, the eagles hammer looks to large. Is the top screw of the top scabbard fitting parallel with the hanger ring mount? The screw should be close to the scabbard throat.

IMO this is an original EICKHORN HYleader dagger in bad condition with releathered scabbard.
Configuration (pommel, fixing of pommel, scabbard configuration, eagle on scabbard, etching of mark and inscription) TOTALLY conforms to by me known originals. and I have seen several of EICKHORNS (and even more from HRSTERs which are quite different). I bet the scabbard is the built-in-throat, all-aluminium one.
But as said for me it is in a not good enough condition. Silvering partially and remarkable gone, some corrosion crudely removed, somebody has played with the pommel and has lost its original fixing and the releathering - this piece would not be for my collection.

Someone has played with it so much I really thought it was a repro. Too bad.

I am late to chime in, but I agree with Wotan here.
Eickhorn, but way too worked over.

Here is a (bad) scan of mine but I think you can recognize the differenc in plating condition and especially leather graining.

Nothing special with this leather, I think.
I've seen couple times this type of leather on original items. Once it was HJL by m7/66 and other-RLB. Sorry don't remember which one it was.

@sokol, sorry when you do not detect the main differences perhaps due to the (mentioned) bad scan.
