take a look at the etching the dagger looks good to me WKC but what about etching pattern? Any opinions?

Never seen that etch before, looks very nice and it's very unusual. Looks like the blade is unplated (crossgrain) but that could just be pics. Would not like to pass judgment on the blade, though the rest of the piece looks OK.
TW's Luft book shows many etch variations were available.

I'm also curious about what is on the other side.

1st things I see though are a pretty shabby alignment of the etch on the blade, Maker mark that appears to be on the front side of the etched blade (would like to see the other side of the blade), and a totally different etch from one side of the blade to the other (look at the leaves/sprigs under the eagle, under both sides, if you can stand to look at the eagle that long. Big Grin

1st indications to me are that this is badly done and made post-war.

I'm no expert on any etch but for the money the only Luft I'd buy is a Voos pattern marked or unmarked.It's the one pattern were the eagle looks like one.I think Houston showed a repro on that pattern at one time also(Voos)
