Any guesses on the maker of this SS dagger based on the motto?

I've only ever seen that motto style on repro blades, I would be really interested to know if this actually appeared on a period blade Red

I would guess 70's Spanish, maybe Reddick? Looks too bad to be an Attwood...
If it real, well then...

Actually I was looking for sokol's answer... Boker. The etch has the Boker style arrows at the bottom of the "h". Can't prove it of course, but the grip looks like a Boker to me. Complete with the rune button that touches the circle.

Skyline, my observation is based on the capital "M". I have never seen the double flared stroke to the "M" (top, left first penstroke of the M) on a period motto etch.
The protruding thin linear downstroke on the M and the arrowheads on the descenders are signs I've always used to spot a Boker.
The pic attached is borrowed from one of JR's Boker pics, the differences in the M are clear... hope I'm mistaken... perhaps another maker? looks like a nice dagger otherwise.

There are other differences between this chained etch and a Boker etch. However, other than Boker there are no other early makers that used this style of "h". I have only seen this on type I's. We'll probably never know the maker of most of the M36's, but it seems likely that Boker may have made some since they were a prolific maker of M33's.

Yes, I share your opinion. The grip looks as classic Boker. Regards

I want to add a couple of points to this:
- The runes on some Boker daggers touch the inner circle, but not all. I have seen them both ways. I have also seen daggers by other makers with the rune touching the inner circle. The rune buttons were a supplier item and there are slight differences btween suppliers or perhaps even batches. Bottom line: trying to ID a dagger from its rune button is tough or impossible. My 2c
- Trying to ID a M19 36 maker from the blade etch is, at least today, frustrating and inconclusive. The minute you find several common points in two etches, you find differences too. Someday someone will get 300-400 daggers together and maybe figure it out.

Certainly gentlemen. No skullduggery, I'm afraid jr. Grip shrinkage to the lower right crossguard. Nothing going on with the blade. It's the lights and shadows.

Sorry to disappoint you, jr. You can try to discredit it on this forum too. You just don't get it do you? It's the real deal. And it's near mint.

Skyline,
How similar is your SS dagger tang marking to the Japanese crysanthemum mark found on some WWII bayonets and guns?

No idea Billy, I don't collect those. I can tell you that the seven circle forge mark has been found on Jacobs, Klitterman & Moog and Eickhorn pieces.
