I can't seem to find much information about these helmets. Are they considered scarce? Are they desirable to helmet collectors? What are your thoughts?? How does this one look??

A nice helmet in my opinion. I like the appearance of the adler decal. You will have to obtain opinions from members more knowledgeable than me in reference to the Hitler Jugend diamond decal however and its placement. These helmets are highly collectible especially by HJ collectors. They are seldom encountered and less often when in really nice condition.cheers, Ryan

http://www.german-helmets.com/HITLER%20YOUTH%20Flakhelferen%20Helmets.htm

Check the above link for decal configuration..

Plus, my images are terrible. I assure you the eagle decal is authentic and the HJ decal matches it in every way.. My images make the decals look wierd.

I hate to say, but I suspect the entire helmet is bad. Although that liner looks original, I believe it was put in that helmet post war. Chinstrap doesn't look right to me. The decal doesn't look too good and I'm not a strong believer of those HJ decals..
Sorry for the bad opinion..

I maintain that I like the look of the helmet from the images. The only thing that I am suspect of is the Jugend decal.cheers, Ryan

Not Cody or Darryl, but I do not like that helmet. The decals do not do it for me!

I have concerns about this helmet. Confused With that said, I will refrain from giving a positive or negative opinion based solely on the pictures provided.

Best regards.

Gunther,

I tend to comment only on the SS helmets...being that they are my specialty. However, I have seen and collected virtually all the other types in my time and therefore believe that I have built up a fairly high knowledge level on all helmets in general.

My opinion is that it is not good. I have never been a proponent of the HJ decalled helmets. With this helmet there are also other issues such as the liner and chinstrap.

If it were me, I would NEVER move on this helmet. I have NEVER seen a Hitler Youth decal referanced in any book. If you buy it and it is real, the chances of ever being able to unload it should you want to part ways with it are slim. Very few would be interested simply because of the obscurity alone.

There was no shell size. All I could find was what looked like k6 ...

I am greatful for all your opinions and expertise.

This helmet has been returned to the seller...

All the best

Gunther,

I generally do not comment as to the originality of another's hardware, but, since you asked, few seasoned collectors regard HJ-decaled helmets as genuine.

When we talk about HJ decaled helmets not existing, are we talking about the HJ FLAK helper type with the diamond or HJ decals in general?

Best regards.

Jim
