Hi Chris,

The dagger itself looks ok to me, but I do have some issues with the scabbard! Although, I must admit that the pics are not the best.
The leather looks a little too course, in other words, too rough.
The grooves to the obverse of the scabbard fittings look too shallow? I cannot see the obverse to the lower scabbard fitting, so I cannot really comment on that, however, it could also be the lighting of the pics?

Could you possibly post a closer pic of the side of the scabbard band where the screws are?

I have a land customs by Hrster, and mine looks identical, except for the scabbard.

I`ve quickly made 2 pics of what I`m talking about. Take note of the smooth leather finish as opposed to the "rough" type on the one offered to you. IMHO, I think the scabbard has been re- leathered Roll Eyes

Take note of how deep the grooves are on the obverse of the scabbard fittings. However, bare in mind, that my scabbard is the Aluminium type, and I`m not sure if the one offered to you is the nickle silver type? Cant really make it out in the pics you posted.

Hopefully, someone with more experience will chime in to give his comments.

Dion

Due to the ringholders it appears that the scabbard fittings of the dagger shown by chrissutter are also the aluminium variant.
I do not like the graining of the leather of the scabbard, especially from the larger, lower part, I do not like the grooves of the scabbard fittings, I also do not like the appearance of the look of the crossguard reverse (pic 4) but it might only be the pic and I also do not like the maker mark of this somehow dead looking blade.
But I have to admit that these photographs (shown by chrissutter) are very bad for any serious statement.
As I recently have seen some quality reproductions of different daggers from this very maker (HRSTER and/or M 7/36)I would be very careful and would recommend an in hand inspection by an experienced collector.
Regards,
