Gentlemen,

I found this some days ago. The ring was in a bad condition, so I cleaned it up a little bit. There are no marks inside. The ring seems to be gold (?), the swastika silver. The small rivet pins the swastika to the ring.

Interesting ring Kolibri. Is everything ( except the swastika) gold or not.....?! The rivet itself shows that could be made of gold because it's smooth traces of hammering imo. Does the rivet hold the swastika to the ring .....or is the swas extra fixed with gold solder all around? (perhaps later, because the swas didn't stay correctly in this position with only one pin holding it)? Just a guess.
The rivet is obvious put crude to the ring...why?
The silver swas shows , not logic imo, even wear asides.
Let's wait if the others can help us.

Cheers,
Benten

Benten,

yes the rivet holds the swastika, You can move it a little bit, but I don't want to do to much. You may be right, that the swastika is in the wrong position. I presume, that the rivet is gold too, but I'm not sure. So, all would be gold without the swastika itsself. Yes the rivet has traces of hammering, but inside, you see nothing.

If I remember me correct, there were old threads with pictures out of catalogues with rings similar this, posted by Gaspare.

Regards

Kolibri

Kolibri, thank you for the info. I didn't mention that the swastika is not in the right position now.If it's original it's probably an early swastika( "swastika with the lowest leg on the floor").The swastika above and below lines are a bit bent , they follow the front of the ring line itselves. So probably I think this position is the right position.

Cheers,
Benten
