Thanks Joe Let's start again..... Reichsverband für Volksmusik (RfV) members badge. (As usual, the bright gilding is due to scanner glare) Cheers Don

Thanks for the welcome! Dj,you are right mine has a gilt leave,I did not even notice that you showed one with a silver leave! That is interesting as I have had no real clue what to think of this somewhat cheap looking pin.Now that you say yours being silver I think of these being contest awards?

Wachmann, I imagine you are correct that they are contest awards. I wonder if there is a bronze or a black leaf variety out there some where? Don, interesting pin. One I do not recall ever having seen. I have so many to be on the lookout for. --dj--Joe

Raymond, thanks, photos look fine to me. Is there wool/felt material backing on the second pin? --dj--Joe

Joe, the 2nd pin does have a black felt type of material. Looks just like the cap band on my Firepolice visor.

While I still haven't located the pin I was looking for ( similar to the center of your Thüringen pin, Joe) I did find this one. I don't know if it's the same organization but I think it fits the thread. It's small in size (same as a dime) but very striking.

Bill, that is a nice one. Mrfabulous, this won't really help answer your question. I have seen a catalog with drawings of Imperial flag pole tops and at least one was music related. 3rd. reich banners I do not recall. --dj--Joe

Nice pins all! Now that's the cats meow! Anything with an Imperial eagle on it does it for me. I think I have a picture somewhere of a club flag.

That's a beauty of a pin Bill, they knew how to make them then....
Here are a couple of mine.
Firstly, someone has already shown the Sängerbund Westmark golden honour pin, but I thought that I'd show this group of three, standard membership, silver honour & golden honour.

Finally for now a variant of the Badischer Sängerbund, marked 800. It's not as bright as it looks, that is due to the glare from the scanner.
I'm always a little sceptical of badges & pins that have a Swaz added to them as it could have been done at anytime, but here it is anyway.
Cheers Don

Gents,
A fine thread here, these (perhaps underrated?) beauties are most impressive and those are superb additions Don, thanks!
I possibly have one more choir-related item to add, it might even be one of Gary's? heh.. I'll have to check ....? ... yes, one of Gary's medals, tucked in with some of his Karneval decorations. The 1927 Sängerbund/Musik medal has an unusual 'pinwheel' design and the glass is near flawless. So many wonderful and colorful enamel patterns to learn from.
I'd rather look at neat, authentic pins like these all day long than to have to look at one more dubious Knight's Cross or humped-up SS helmet. I trust that some of the younger fellas are having a look and taking notice of these fine originals? I'm of the opinion that it can only hone one's collecting skills for bigger and better things in future, or maybe that's just wishful-thinking?
Best regards and good collecting to all !
Bill

William, wow, awesome, I like! And there's so much about these that I like ... You also show very lovely Kleingärtnerabzeichen somewhere, its very very cool to see/learn of these, they are more original to collect. Underrated, maybe, but surely not by you, or me! Thanks a lot for sharing these shots! Bye, KR

KR, Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed these nice specimens too! They really are great to look at ... Again, my apologies for not being able to add another pin to the thread. So far you guys have posted some exceptional examples. I can only add this related medal from Gau Franken for fifty years of membership in the club. I hope more members will continue to add their Sängerbund pins, badges and medals as time passes. It's always a treat being able to look at such fine, crisp images of these pre-1945 gems. Thanks everyone! B~
