I just fished this one out of the weeds last week. I was wondering if anyone here knows what the meaning and/or significance is of the scabbard inscription. It reads Lehrtrupp 13/M43 Sept. - Nov. 1934. Any info is appreciated. Thanks - Rich

Very nice dagger, with the more desirable maker mark version. Usually these were some kind of award given out for a sports or shooting contest. In this case, looks like for a training troop...

John, I think that's just a personal inscription and not some awarded dagger. It's not professional engraving. I would like to have that maker for sure! Very nice dagger.

Thanks for all the info.

Mark, I'm somewhat on the fence as to whether this is a personal or professional inscription. The lettering is very uniform and well executed. Definitely not a hack job.

Service time? But it was only for 3 months.Plus, there is no gau mark, which is seen occasionally. I guess we may never know.

Nice dagger. I've been looking for this version of Adolf Volker for several years. The unit numbers 13/M43 are NSKK. Which stand for 13 Motorsturm/ Motorstandart 43. Located in Arnstadt, Thringen.

I don't have that one in my collection. I also didn't mean at all that the inscription was questionable...only very lightly done. I would like to have that dagger if you get tired of looking at it. Heh Heh....

Cheers for all the compliments. I'm happy I scored this one and it will stay in my private stash for the time being. Smile Mark, you'll be the first to know if I ever throw it on the block.

Interesting to note that all early Volker choo-choo daggers that I have seen are not Gau marked. Confused
