Wonderful example RR. I had one of these a few months back in tombac, 1st I've ever seen. Truly a beauty if I can find the pic I'll post it.

Hello everyone, I am small time collector from Serbia, I am new on this forum, so pardon me if I make some mistakes. This is my first Russian campaign medal, I also like them very much.

Welcome Desimir, It appears to be in nice condition. Can you make out the number on the ring?

I only recall ever seeing the ribbon in wear. A single medal in wear would be something to see.

My first German medal, purchased at a flea market when I was 9 or 10 back in the early 1970's. If I remember correctly the seller had a large jar full of them...

Here is one that has not been posted. This is an early 1957 version of the award made by S&L in the late 1950s. This version of the medal, manufactured without the swastika, could be worn by veterans or on the Bundeswehr uniform. The ribbon for the award remained the same as shown on the postwar ribbon bar.

Time passes quickly. Does anyone have anything new for this venerable thread? Some in-wear pictures? Paper packets? Period advertisements? --dj--Joe

Hear is my in-wear picture.
This is probably a solider and his wife.
I believe the 3rd ribbon from the left is the Russian front ribbon.
The back of the picture is marked: "1944, NACH DER OPPERATION" or 1944, AFTER THE OPERATION.

Cameron, Good conditioned medal. Is the ring marked? Nice to have a document to display with the award.
