Reverse etch front part.
Not a mint dagger by any means, but not many of these around, and those that are, are dedicated to Sturms, not to individuals. I love the grip and love the etches.
I hope you like it too.

Ed/Carlos1:
Thank you.
I believe that a similar etch, only made out to a Sturm, will be pictured in Tom's SA book, whenever it finally arrives. I also believe that a presentation piece to an individual is much more difficult to find than one to a Sturm.
It is a presentation piece that has no gau stampings. The guards are marked 'HE' and the lower guard is marked '4'.
What I find neat are the Eickhorn fleur-de-lys border decorations on the etches. I see the same type of bookends on my Eickhorn etched bayonets.
Neat stuff, eh?
John

Go, go, go Canada ! The rarity outweigh the condition factor in my opinion. A rare and lovely inscription and a keeper for sure. Well done Jonh !

super rare variation! LOVE the grip! Really stands out as I am sure this was the intention of the manufacture.

Very interesting. I wonder if that was a Rohm blade that was re-used of if they used that close-to-the crossguard makers mark for this special etch? Charlie
