This is my new C Linder that I bought from JR. He is a first class seller. He offered to send me the dagger before payment for me to look over. Not to many would do that! I sent him a money order and he held onto it for a week while I was away on a business trips waiting for me to look over the dagger and accept it before cashing. It has the best scabbard I have seen, A rich dark color with all of the anodizing and 95% or better of the lacquer. One question I do have is if Linder is known for a pimpled frosted motto? http://s101.photobucket.com/albums/m61/anythingww2/C%20LINDER/

Bob... really? Not like them to ban people, have you asked them to reconsider? Scott

That is a excellent piece. I just purchased an SS Ground Rohm Eickhorn from JR and it is a real beauty. JR is honest, fair and always willing to assist in answering questions. Glad he's with us!

Congrats on your nice C Linder!! I've got one very near the same condition. I don't know alot about this subject, but I'm starting to get the drift it is a nice item with an early low volume, maker who died in 1936. I'm looking for any info about this maker and the aproximate value of this very nice piece. Tell me more about this pimpled frosted motto? The letters in the "Alles fur Deutscland" on my S A do have a pimpled surface.

Hi Ima You can find some great info on SA daggers at www.Lakesidetrader.com. The motto was acid ethched resulting sometimes in the pimpled vs smooth surface. Makers would burnish or darken the motto in a n attempt to hide the bumps. Some makers would leave their mottos dark silver (frosted) I have never seen a maker who had a frosted motto before but it makes sense that their etching technique would have left a pimpled surface and they didnt want to darken it. I have a couple of files with various notes I have collected from the net that I will send you. If you or anyone would like them email me at [email protected]. I dont want to post them here as they are snippets of posts I have collected and cant give propper credit to who wrote them.
