Here are a few dress pieces that are Pioneers. I only have a few, and thought I would try to pick a few of the more obscure TM's of these, as well as the short full bird pommel. From left to right, an over the shoulder Eick, a full bird ACS, Paul Seilheimer, and a Christians. I would like to see some of the other members Pioneer pieces. I do like the rare TM's, even better when they're on a Pioneer or stag handled. Oh yeah, I still need a stag handled Pioneer and one that's etched down the road.I'm sure Wayne's got one or two of those. =)

I really need to get to the fabric store. I was either back on the black again or the cats Dora the Explorer blanket. If I had decided to go with that, she would have been in the picture.

Steve,

Some very nice "Pioneer" bayonets. I like these too and there are quite a few variations. They are actually private purchase examples of the S84/98 but I guess they will always be Pioneer bayonets due to good Solingen marketing and collector nomenclature.

Here are a couple. The one on the left is a large squirrel logo Eickhorn and the one with the beak pommel is a WKC. These bayonets with the beak are quite scarce as you know.

That actually brings up a good question. As I look back thru my collecting career I can't recall even once even seeing a Pionier dress bayonet having Stag grip plates. Perhaps Houston could weigh in on this one as well as some of you "seasoned" bayonet collectors. I am getting older so my memory might not be as sharp as it was yesterday. I've got some GREAT, UNIQUE etched dress bayonets coming up on my site within a week or two...stay tuned.

Denny Gaither posted to the forum on 17 December 2005. It had quite a few pioneer bayonets.

Steve,
Thanks for posting your Pioneers - especially that short full-bird Alcoso with the monogram. That is a screamer!!
So now we know that Eickhorn, Krebs & Alcoso made this model. Does anyone else have a short unclipped model in their collection?

Thanks guys. I liked the additional pics. For something that wasn't very popular with the troops, visually speaking, they kind of grow on you.

Thanks Ralph for finding Denny's old thread. I remembered he had one started, but I don't always find what I'm looking for thru a search here. The stag handled Pioneer was outstanding. I thought I had seen one. It may be a long time before I find one for myself.

I just have always been interested in how many makers of these there are out there.

Steve.

I have six, all long and clipped.
2 x Horster
2 x Eickhorn
E-pack
Unmarked

Although a scarce bayonet the long clipped version was definately the more prolific and the unclipped stag one shown is very appealing.....I prefer it to the normal KS98 stag tbh.

Very nice pioneers Smile I love them. It's definitely something I am missing in my collection.
