There are good books on the market where you would spot it out in one second if this one is real or not. A little homework is necessary for this hobby and this a cheap copy of one SS honor dagger, and then with the RZM maker mark ...

I have some good books on it but was still taken by a guy named pawl who sold one to a friend of mine that traded it to me. I was lucky and got my trade back thanks to a nice man on this forum. There are five bids on this dagger as of now and five days to go. Real scary. g24t

Not anymore, This was a couple years ago. I have since learned a lot from this forum and the nice gentleman who looked at my stuff and gave me the word. I understand that pawl is going under some other names now. My experience came out ok, I got my trades and money back from the person who pawl was selling his stuff through. g24t

The book is $133.33 us but it cost more to be wrong than the cost of the book. Thanks for the site. g24t

The dagger is a well known early fake. It combines a "Himmler" with an "Honor dagger." The blade is "RZM" marked. All original Himmler's are by Eickhorn and have standard fittings and scabbard. The "honor" fittings are also reproductions. Not a bad display item for what it is, but the bidding has gone over $400. Ridiculous, in my book.

This dagger is cheap junk. I just traded a copy of Reproduction Recognition to Tom Johnson, check his web site as he nearly always has copies for sale.

On a slightly different note, there is a fake diplomat's dagger (FW Holler, Berlin), also on eBay, that has bids over $600, with a "Buy Now" price of several thousand. It is astounding that people are willing to pay so much for junk without having any idea as to what they are buying.

Grumpy. With the blade being marked Holler Berlin was a dead giveaway! Another member stated that Holler did not make this type of dagger. SSman

777. The fake Himmler dagger is still listed on the other site. Somebody retacted their bid because it was a little over $400.00 and now it is at $250.00. At least one person wised up! SSman

It really is so suprising that punters will offer up good money for junk, hey if you can access ecrap then your internet enabled, surely common sense would direct anyone to a place like this, or similar, to do a bit of research before parting with hard earned money. This forum is a gold mine of info for any new collector, and indeed any old collector returning to the hobby. Can't say enough about this place!!!
