These days at work we had a surprising find.We found, the bones of 3 persons(maybe there more,we're not finished yet). The excavation was triggered from the ones helmet, so the detector beeped, I dug, and we found the remains. The weird thing is that the place we work is a minefield of the Greek civil war, and was planted in 1948.Propably it was a battlefield during WW1.In an attempt to recognise the origin of the people the bones once belonged, I got a uniform button I found there.I seems like an Austro-Hungarian eagle to me...I'd love to have some more info. The helmet was in bad shape, but it looks like a french WW1 helmet, the ones with the small crest.Dog tags also found there, sent for cleaning to be readable.Oval shaped and made of aluminum.

Here's the pics:

A fascinating tale. Are you an archeologist? Would be curious to see more photos!

I am an EOD/Minesweeper of the Hellenic Army, and these finds are descovered while demining an civil war minefield as I said before.Along with the button pictured, we found some of the same size and shape but without any designs on them.I add also a pic of the dog tag, if anyone can make out the origin or anything else, would be of GREAT help. Here are some more photos as requested.

Awesome work Phatt! Most interesting finds. I wish you the best of luck in your search for both clues and information.
Cheers, Pauli

Anyone else have any ideas about these finds, you would be a lot of help in our attempt to get them home, even after close to 100 years....
