Hello!
I could buy a wonderfoul german WW1 officers sord. It is very rare - it is edged with " 3. Seebataillon" - "Tsingtau China" , it is stamped with "II W.D. 128" at the handle. The producer is H�rster Solingen on the blade. The seller cannot garantee it is original because he doens�t collect swords - he says.
My question: Is anything known if there are high-quality-reproductions on the market from H�rster Solingen?
There are no better photoes - sorry!
Or do you think it is original? My opinion is that it is original - PLEASE tell me your opinion.

DANDAH,
What makes you think that this sword is German beyond it's similar physical characteristics? ?
The H�rster company is still in existence today and makes swords for many foreign military needs.
Rather than a 'reproduction' I would garner that the sword in mention is a contemporary(post WWII) piece made for a foreign need.
Just my thoughts.

The photos are bad-probably on purpose-The Horster TM is not the type used in the WWI era. End of story.
