Hopefully you did not buy this hat.

I think a put-together post war hat. I am not sure if the body of the hat itself is real but I do not believe all these pieces started out together.

I think it is a Luftwaffe visor on some sort of hat...disproportionately large too.

I believe the sweatband has been added, probably when the visor was.

It is a kooky colored lining, you usually see 'blue' in navy hats.

The chin cord more than likely was added when it was pieced together (too large for the hat), and if you needed more, the wreath/cocade is too large for the band....

Hi, thanks for your opinion Fknorr.
I were very happy to see your original Todt Schirmmütze if you have one in your collection?
Cheers

I do not own one.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone other than an advanced collector with an 'original' one in their collections.

I have been looking at/looking for visors in particular for my collection for about five years now and in that time I have seen hundreds upon hundreds of common visors hit the market, scores of rare/scarce 'originals' but have yet to see one of these pass hands either on a website or through private sales that I have heard of.

I am sure there are a few 'originals' out there, I just do not think this is one, for the many reasons I mentioned.
