The only way you can say it is real and not done view month ago is about the matching colour from your fittings to the engraving, what is actualy hand done on your one and look very nice for my taste because it has the typical right used style.
On the other hand are people out who can do such a handcraft these days in the same way, but as I said the ageing wouldn't be good. Colour, and from where it comes out are importend here.
But I like what I see here.

I have to agree with Robert.
I've been looking at quite a few engraved pieces lately and this one looks good from what I've seen/studied so far.

I like it also, look at the wear on the piece and around the engraving, looks pretty even and not polished. JMO

Besides the name, what does the inscription say?

I also like the way the inscription is shaped to match the curve of the scabbard throat

I think Robert has it exactly right on the engraving. To me; This is a really neat piece and one I would be glad to have in my collection! Jim

I like it. I especially like it when the inscription is "ordinary" and doesn't really add much to the value of the piece (such as in this case).
