New to this field, and need some advice. I picked this up, among other things, from an antique store. What are your thoughts on it?

Thanks for you time,

Steve

I am without hands on of positive opinion here but for a couple reasons the harness has what apears to be correct grommets the stampings seem okay you may have lucked in here. Does it appear to have heavy weight ?

The helmet is 100% original. My only concern would be the decal which looks a bit bright. A clearer photo would help.
Well done !

Steve

Thanks for the information guys.

Paul - it is heavy. Sounds like a bell when the liner is out of the shell. The decal was a repro, but as I flaked the repro off, the yellowish tint of another came through, so I stopped messing with it.

SMP - I will see if I can get better photos. Like I said, I am more of a collector of rifles. Is this worth insuring, selling? What would it usually go for on the retail side, if I can ask?

your helmet is missing a bolt can be replaced otherwise seems of best condition and although pricing is not the norm if you look around several thousand will be in order my friend once again well done

I think the helmet is fine, just a little monkeyed with. It's a shame about the decal, but they can't all be perfect. I think the webbing band around it is probably postwar, too. But the shell, paint, liner and straps are original.
