There is a question on these items by another membr who has seen them offered at eBay.
I only want to refer to the edged weapons.
What I can see in these partially very detailed and partially blurry pics is the following: The dagger due to all research and common thoughts is called a government officials dagger (and NOT diplomats dagger). Rust on blade is high brown and looks like recently occured. I do own two ALCOSOs, a diplo and a gov and I have seen and have had in hands quite a lot of them of different manufacturing periods. The crossguard of this certain dagger here does not conform to any crossguard I have seen on a doubtless period dagger. The overall of the grip eagle is too smooth for what I have seen on doubtless original daggers.
The degen bears the marking ("Alcoso" in an archbow script) which I was told by all also long time colletors and also some "big names" in the hobby, which has to be avoided to collect. There "might" be originals but nobody, as said also some "big name" ones do not know. Concerning this certain degen due to the appearance of the crossguard eagle and the etching of the blade I tend to think to know.....
Just my thoughts.
Regards,

Here are some pics of a diplo degen. Also a fake. Think from the same manufacturer as above.

jim m,I do think there is another interpretation: First the holes on your gov/diplos dagger are correcly wide apart. Those on the degen are incorrectly very close together. Furtheron, and that is what I think sokol wanted to show, when you do think an imaginable line going throug both holes (the line of the dagger goes through the center of the screw which is totally correct) on the degen this certain line goes beside the center of the screw which is incorrect.
I hope I could describe it proper due to my limited knowledge on the english language.

Right you are, wotan. The holes are too close to each other.

The seller must now be jumping up and down for joy. Not only did he get top dollar for some questionable items but Ebay cancelled the listing. This takes the seller off the hook for any Ebay fees. Big Grin Big Grin

Who knows what'll happen now. Funny too, Eban screwed themselves out of a pretty penny on that sale.
