1937 list shows Emil Sinn as an Untersturmfuhrer with party #257605 and ss #30319. D.O.B. 8-10-95 It also shows him belonging to 69.Sta. and he received both the Reich and S.A sport badge. It looks like he served in WWI and received the Iron cross 2nd class and wound badge. As of the 1937 date it does not show him having the ss honor ring or the degen yet. Hope this is a start.

While Emil was the only Sinn listed in the 1937 list, there is also a Erich Sinn listed in the 1944 list who has the rank of Sturmbannfuhrer. Do you have any additional information (dates,awards,numbers,ect..) that may help you to make sure your on the right track with either of these officers?

The guy I'm seeking info on posibly would be Erich Sinn of the 1944 list; his highest rank achieved was Sturmbannfhrer (don't know date of promotion to this rank),- I'm told he served on the Russian Front, in a Sturmgeschutz unit,- I don't know which Division. Don't know dates of awards, but have been told he had 4 badges.

Heres what I see off the 1944 list regarding Erich Sinn. Party#4158964, SS#198275, D.O.B.- 5.1.15 Received SS officer degen, Iron Cross 1st class & War Merit 1st class with swords.(Maybe one of his other awards would be the Winter Campaign in Russia Medal) The 1944 list shows him as Kommandeur SS Sturmgeschutz Schule and he graduated from Junkerschulen Braunschweig in 1938.It looks like he became a Sturmbannfuhrer on 30.1.44 With the info given,it sound like this could be a possibility for the officer in question.

Hi, The regiments are listed in my above post. Art.Rgt2 was with 2SS Das Reich, Art.Rgt.5 was with 5SS Wiking. As for the independent StuG bttr 6, you'll have to look for unit histories/OOB's and which units were attached at what points in time.
Best regards,
Tor-Helge
