A lazy Sunday afternoon so I decided it was time for the semi-annual wipe down. It occurred to me that I did not have a picture of all 17 of the SG84/98 III makers for 1944. It seemed like a good time for such foolishness; so here they are!
Beginning at the 12 o'clock position and proceeding clock-wise, they are:

1. 44jwh #3586u Chatellerault
2. 44asw #2532dd E&F Hörster (rivited grip)
3. 44sgx #8467gg E&F Hörster
4. 44cqh #688b Clemen u. Jung
5. 44cvl #3985i WKC
6. 44ddl #3654b Josua Corts & Sohn
7. 44cul #1222b Ernst Pack & Sohne
8. 44fnj #3175n Alcoso (no scabbard)
9. 44agv #5812a Berg & Co.
10. 44pyy #5429d Berg & Co.
11. clc44 #E4742 Richard Abr. Herder
12. 44crs #681b Paul Weyersberg
13. 44ffc #3236e Friedrich Herder & Sohn
14. bym44 #3390c Maschinenhaus Ferlach
15. cof44 #3180b Carl Eickhorn
16. fze44 #7238c F.W. Höller & Cie
17. ab44 #6981e Mundlos & Co.

These 17 do not include several other distinct variations for 1944 such as other rivited grip versions, the non-rivited grip 44asw, the 43/44asw, etc. etc.
All of these are matching numbers (except for the fnj of course). I haven't actively collected these bayos for 7 or 8 years but still find them to be very interesting with the myriad variations to be collected. Anyway, it was more fun than mowing the lawn.
I'm sure several of our members have complete years to show us. Let's see 'em, guys....

Denny:

Wonderful collection.

My bayonet interests are a little different: I would like to collect all of the years of issue by Carl Eickhorn. I have matching numbers for 1939 (Carl Eickhorn mark) and cof40-cof44.

Fighting knives carry more of the sense of danger to me than the decoration daggers that look so fine.

John

Always looking for Eickhorns and etched bayonets.

Denny

What happen to the nickel plateing. Smile

Very nice collection, and your right sure beats mowing the lawn. Which of the 17 is the rarest.

Terry, I would say the pyy is probably the rarest, but for me the cqh was the hardest to find.

Dave, I remember when you got your two. Both are nice..

Denny, I really liked the bayonets. I don't do much of the service bayonets, I only have a few and they're just common. I always look for them if the price is right. Thanks for sharing some of the '44 dates.

Steve.
